ATBU has positioned itself as one of the leading universities in Nigeria in the area of scientific and technological research. The university has made a significant strides in renewable energy, agriculture, water resources, environmental technology, and entrepreneurship development, among other fields. Its faculty members and researchers have contributed to groundbreaking projects, both within Nigeria and globally.
A key area of ATBU’s research focus has been in sustainable technology and renewable energy. The university established the Doctorate of Research Innovation and Development (DRID) which oversees and promote research activities aimed at solving real-world problems, particularly in northern region of Nigeria. Research in areas such as solar energy, agricultural technologies, and water management have had far reaching impacts on the local economy and society.
